SERVICES
OBEDIENCE TRAINING 50$/HR
Think of this like taking your dog to the gym 💪🐕
This is the most common type of dog training, and it teaches dogs basic commands such as sit, stay, come, and down. Obedience training can help to make your dog more reliable and manageable, and it can also help to prevent problem behaviors such as jumping, pulling on the leash, and barking.
I will also help you master your dogs basic 5 commands. Knowing them isn’t enough, just like anything else in life, practice makes perfect, and practice for your dog simply means repetition.
The five basic dog commands for obedience training are:
Sit: This is a great first command to teach your dog, as it is easy for them to understand and follow.
Stay: This command is a bit more challenging, but it is essential for keeping your dog safe in public or in situations where they might be tempted to run off.
Come: This is one of the most important commands for your dog to know, as it could literally save their life.
Down: This command is similar to "sit," but it requires your dog to lie down on their stomach.
Leave it: This command is important for teaching your dog not to eat things that they shouldn't, such as food off the ground or garbage.
These are just a few of the basic dog commands that you can teach your dog. With patience and consistency, you can teach your dog to follow these commands and be a well-behaved member of your family.
BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION 65$/HR
If your dog has behavior issues, these must be addressed before the obedience class.
If your dog has any behavioral problems, such as aggression, anxiety, or separation anxiety, you may want to consider behavior modification training. Behavior modification training can help to change your dog's behavior by teaching them new skills and by helping to reduce stress and anxiety.
Often times a dog simply needs a steady and confident hand. I use a balanced approach when training dogs. It begins with the leash. I use the leash to tell the dog what I don’t want them to do, while at the same time pairing the leash with a verbal command. In time the verbal is often all you need, and the leash is there for minor movements that your dog will be very attentive to.
The second thing I work on after the leash is teaching your dog what a treat is for and to balance the relationship. The treat isn’t always small dried kibble (which is what I use), but it can also be play. Although I find the combination of the two to be most effective.
**If your dog has their basic 5 commands passable and they are easy to control on the leash, you can skip this class.
PRIVATE TRAINING WITH OWNER 30$/ 30M
+ This is the most crucial part of improving your dog, when you the owner learns how to work with your specific dog.
++ I recommend adding this to any of my hour long sessions.
These classes cover the basics of leash walking, such as how to choose the right leash and collar, how to hold the leash, and how to train your dog to walk on a loose leash.
